Oxfordshire Organisations
The Broken Spoke Bike Co-op is a DIY (do-it-yourself) bicycle workshop that teaches people of all ages and backgrounds how to ride and repair bicycles. We are creating a culture of cycling in Oxfordshire.
The Oxford Circular Collective is a Community Action Group of keen volunteers who act to implement a viable example of a local circular economy in a carbon-neutral, healthy and fun way.
Ark T is a creative arts project that believes that the Arts and creativity are important vehicles for people to discover new things about themselves and so unlock their potential to create change.
Oxford Wood Recycling is a social enterprise with wood reuse and recycling at its heart. Their timber yard is stocks everything from 300 year old oak through to hard and soft woods ideal for DIY, gardens, building and household projects.
Awesome Artists
Bob and Roberta Smith see art as an important element in democratic life. Much of their art takes the form of painted signs. In 2013, Bob and Roberta launched the Art Party with Crescent Arts, Scarborough. The Art Party seeks to better advocate the arts to Government.
Women Who Draw is an open directory of female professional illustrators, artists and cartoonists. It was created by a group of women artists in an effort to increase the visibility of female illustrators with an emphasis on female illustrators of color, LBTQ+, and other minority groups of female illustrators.
Play Propagators
Playing Out supports anyone who wants children to be able to play freely outside their own front door, especially using temporary road closures to create play streets. They provide ideas, advice and support to residents wanting to bring about change in their street or neighbourhood.
